What We Do
Education
Education is one of most significant thematic area of WADAN where we provide educational resources to the most marginalized and vulnerable students in the far-flung areas of the country. WADAN is engaged in the education sector since the last 12 years and is a member of the National Education Cluster and Education Strategic Thematic Working Group. WADAN renders its educational projects across the country in alignment with Community Based Education initiative.
Health
We operate across diverse sectors, with a primary focus on bolstering healthcare, where our efforts in the health domain hold immense significance. Among our projects, the Drug Demand Redundancy (DDR) initiative stands out, actively implemented across multiple provinces. This pivotal program not only extends essential health facilities but also plays a pivotal role in curbing drug addiction by focusing on prevention strategies.
Community Development
Community development is the foremost thematic area where WADAN dispense its vital interventions by engaging the communities at large. WADAN build the of beneficiaries and provide an in-depth insight to the market landscape through inclusive project designs which ensures the well-being of the target groups in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.
Emergency Response
The prolonged conflict in Afghanistan resulted in a complex humanitarian situation which devastatingly affected the entire country. Wide-scale displacement, child labor, early marriage and psychological issues left millions of people gravely influenced. WADAN works diligently shoulder to shoulder with its partners to reduce the lingering consequences of war and conflict.
Social Protection
Reduction of poverty, minimizing the level of vulnerability, avoiding social risks through different initiatives such as creating employment opportunities and designing inclusive solutions is at the core of WADAN’s interventions. WADAN has reached to thousands of people and have brought drastic changes in their lives.

Food Security
The humanitarian situation in Afghanistan remains dire. A multitude of factors, including economic instability, outstanding debts, reduced remittances, flood-related disasters, the lingering impacts of consecutive droughts, elevated food prices, and diminished food assistance and livelihood support, have collectively contributed to alarming levels of food insecurity among many Afghans.
